Kingston: First Positive COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Town

The first positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the Town of Kingston.

Due to privacy requirements, the demographics about the case will remain anonymous.

The state Department of Public Health said as of Wednesday, there were 64 confirmed cases in Plymouth County. That is up from 32 cases on Monday.

In a letter to residents in Kingston, Selectman Chair Joshua Warren said with increased testing and community spread, a positive case in town was inevitable.

“This is a crucial time for infection control,” said Warren. “Kingston’s Emergency Management Team and Board of Health wants to remind you all that maintaining social distancing, limiting exposure to others, avoiding crowded places, and vigilant hand washing are vital steps in slowing the spread of this disease.”

Residents are advised to follow recommendations by the Center for Disease Control, and the state Department of Health. Regular updates are posted on the Kingston town website.
