A Marshfield woman was Medflighted to a Boston hospital with burn injuries.
Around 7:48 a.m. Monday morning, the Marshfield Fire Department received a call from Life Alert reporting fire alarms were going off in an apartment.
The Fire Department responded to Tea Rock Gardens, and first arriving crews made entry into the apartment after finding an odor of smoke.
A female victim was located in a bedroom with burn injuries to the left side of her chest, back, and arm.
The woman was treated on scene by Marshfield paramedics and was transported by Boston Medflight to Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
The fire damage was contained to the bed, with no extension to other areas of the department.
The State Fire Marshall responded to the scene, and worked with members of the Marshfield Fire Department to investigate the fire. The cause was determined to be careless disposal of smoking materials.
