West Bridgewater police say they arrested a man wanted in connection to a Boston murder.
41-year-old Akil Jackson of Easton was taken into custody without incident. Officers located and seized a loaded nine millimeter handgun that Jackson had.
Boston Police say Jackson was wanted in connection to the fatal July shooting of 42-year-old Alicia Heywood in Roslindale.
Around 1:30 this afternoon, West Bridgewater Police Dispatch received a call, and were able to determine that a victim was in distress. While responding, officers were informed that Jackson had an outstanding warrant for violent crimes.
Officers quickly located Jackson, and took him into custody. The gun was found to be stolen out of Georgia.
Jackson is facing charges that include Murder, Violating a Restraining Order, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
