While initially canceled twice due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers of the Weymouth Irish Heritage Parade and festival are hoping the third time’s the charm.
Weymouth Councilor-at-Large Fred Happel, the co-chair and event’s founder says the parade is set to kick off from the Hamilton School on 11 a.m. Sunday. The Mighty Quinn Waters will be the Grand Marshall of the Parade.
There are more than 52 participants that will be taking part in the parade. A Weymouth Police K9 demo, vendors, and food trucks will be at Stella Tirrell Park. Three bands, including Boston’s Erin Og, Silver Spears, and Devri will be taking the stage.
The parade takes off from the Hamilton School at 11 a.m., and proceeds up Union Street to The Cottage Bar. Around 12, a festival will follow at Stella Tirrell Park.
