Hingham police say a Weymouth man was arraigned after he was accused of stealing nearly $4,000 dollars from an elderly veteran.
45-year-old Gerald Blain is facing charges that include 11 counts of forgery, and felony breaking and entering. He was arraigned Tuesday in Hingham District Court.
Hingham Police say last month, they were made aware of an ongoing theft, where the victim’s checks were being cashed without authorization.
Police allege Blain had befriended the victim at a local assisted-living facility. Over time, police say Blain observed where the victim kept their checks and how they endorsed them.
The matter remains under investigation.
