Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz joined WATD to discuss the grandparents raising grandchildren program.
Through a partnership with the Old Colony YMCA in Middleboro, grandparents can receive a free one-year membership.
Cruz says the role of the District Attorney’s Office has expanded over the years, with more of a focus on drug-endangered children, and children who have had adverse experiences such as trauma or abuse.
The goal is to keep children out of the criminal justice system through support and positive activities.
