Almost Famous w/ John Shea

Every Tuesday From 8-10 PM!

Almost Famous showcases local bands, musicians and singers from the New England region with a strong focus on the South Shore, the Cape and Boston. The format is rock, pop with some crossover country/Americana and folk rock mixed in too.

The show targets a wide range of ages with a mission to find the kids who are forming their first bands in high school, the solo artists that sing in the coffee shops and the bands that are pounding the pavement on tour locally and nationally to get their music heard by the masses.

In addition to playing, there are live-in-studio performances, musician interviews and a segment on what musicians are gigging where and when. Also included are interviews of industry gurus to talk about the state of local music past and present.

John Shea

John has lived on the South Shore since he was 10 and has always had an interest in radio. He  came across WATD when looking for a college internship. After college he returned to WATD as public service director, a producer and now music director. His passion for local music led him to pitch the idea of a local music show to station management. The result is Almost Famous Radio.

All artists interested in submitting their material for consideration should have professionally recorded original material on CD or as MP3 files, recorded recently and not more than a few years old.
