From 11 – 2 at the Mass Audubon North River Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield turn winter “blahs” into winter “ahs” and celebrate the season on Tin Can Day! Yes, you heard right. This day is all about the tin can and we’re commemorating its birth with some great craft projects. From robots to luminaries, to planters and more, give a can a second life and recycle it into something special. Come get “TINspired”! This is a drop in class but you must register for it. Check out Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Special Activities at Battleship Cove today at 9:00am. Battleship Cove will honor and celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a continuous showing of the film, “King” a History Channel documentary hosted by Tom Brokaw. A scavenger hunt of the vessels moored at Battleship Cove will be distributed in the Gift Shop and there will be prizes awarded to those who successfully complete it. Battleship Cove is open daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Free parking, Gift Shop, and the Morse Code Galley will be open for lunch and refreshments.
