Friday, July 20:

You still have time today to visit the world’s largest Viking ship sailing in modern times, Draken Harald Harfagre on the Plymouth Town Wharf. You can tour the deck from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and learn about the ship and the adventure sailing her. Visit the Draken Village and enjoy the immersive photo and video exhibition illustrating Viking history, modern explorers and the adventures of the Draken. The exhibition and Village are free and open to the public.  Tickets for the Deck tours are $12 for adults over 16, $6 for kids 5 – 15 and children 4 and under are free. The Hall at Patriot Place in Foxborough is participating in the Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays program which means admission is free today! Admission is also free at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Chatham Shark Center in Chatham, the New Bedford Whaling Museum among others! Friday morning story time at the Paragon Carousel takes place today promptly at 10:30 a.m. and the carousel opens at 10:00 a.m. today. Anna from Frozen wants you to build a snowman with her! Or at least to listen to her story! The event is free and guests may purchase ride tickets to join Anna on the carousel after the story.


How about a Farm Dinner tonight at Weir River Farm, for the whole family? Celebrate local food, good company and long summer nights at the first Friday Farm Dinner of the season from 5 – 8 p.m. in Hingham. You must purchase your tickets ahead of time and you can do so on The Trustees website. Dinner includes eggplant pesto pizza along with fig, apple and cheese quesadilla, herbed chicken with prosciutto and asparagus along with crème brule for dessert! Delish! Saturday, July 21:

It’s open barnyard time at Weir River Farm in Hingham! Nutmeg the pony, Billy the goat and the other barnyard regulars are excited to see you at the farm! You can brush a goat, make a barnyard craft, pet a chicken and more! You can talk to a friendly farmer and learn more about life on the farm. You can also take a walk on one of the many trails and experience all that Weir River Farm has to offer. You can visit the barnyard every Saturday – rain or shine – from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Park at 140 Turkey Hill Lane. Cost is $5 for member kids and $10 for nonmember kids – adults are admitted for free. Click HERE for more details.  


The 2018 Duxbury Family Fun Day on the Beach is underway today from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Today you’ll be building a bathyscope, a viewfinder for underwater exploration! You’ll be plying the shallows in search of intertidal life – so be prepared for some shallow wading! This program is free and great for kids ages 4 and older. Sunday, July 22:

The Holbrook Firefighters are hosting a car show at Holbrook Sumner Field/Park on South Franklin Street (Rt. 37) today from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. You’ll see classic cars, hotrods, motorcycles, trucks, fire apparatus, police and military vehicles. All are welcome to this free event which includes food, raffles, kids’ activities and much more. Proceeds help Holbrook Firefighters IAFF Local 1452 support local charities. Been to the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton? Children under 12 are admitted for free and everyone is admitted for free Thursdays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Admission is free for Brockton residents! www.fullercraft.org 


The Children’s Museum in Boston costs $1 to enter Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.! Current exhibits include Explore-a-Saurus where you can assume the role of scientist and explore the evidence, the science and the features that make dinosaurs so compelling. You can touch and measure a fossil footprint and learn what clues it gives about a dinosaur’s size. You can manipulate a full-size model and learn how they moved and rearrange bone puzzles to learn about dinosaur anatomy.
