The carnival is back in Scituate Harbor’s Cole Parkway, running through Saturday, July 13. Rides, games, food – you know the drill. There will be fireworks Friday and Saturday night too. Carnival opens daily at 7:00 p.m., closing time varies. Partial proceeds benefit the Scituate Knights of Columbus.

The carnival is also coming to Quincy for the Feast of Saint Ann until July 14th at St. Mary’s Church, 115 Crescent Street. On Friday the carnival opens at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. until close, Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 

Friday, July 12

The Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays program today includes the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Hall at Patriot Place in Foxborough and the Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River among many other spots! http://highlandstreet.org/programs/free-fun-fridays-2019

 

Princess Storytime at the Paragon Carousel in Hull has returned once again this summer. The carousel opens at 10:00 a.m. and story time starts promptly at 10:30 a.m. rain or shine, this event is free and guests may purchase ride tickets to join the Princess storyteller once the story is over. This week’s reader is Snow White!

 

Saturday, July

Family Fun Days on Duxbury Beach, today from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – beachscape collaborative mural with Marcia Ballou. Join the very celebrated artists at her canvas as she invites you to add your talents to a piece illustrating the bounty of the beach. Great for kids of all ages – no fee and no registration required!

 

Fireflies and lazy summer nights just seem to go together. Celebrate the start of summer at the Blue Hills Trailside Museum in Milton from 8 – 9:30  p.m. as you enjoy a little ice cream, make a firefly craft, learn what fireflies likes and how you can make your own backyard more firefly friendly! You’ll venture outside into the night to go looking for these flashing insects. This program is suggested for families with young children; children under 3 are free and the cost for member adults and children is $8, cost for non-member adults and children is $10. Don’t forget to wear long pants and bring your insect repellent – and bring a flashlight! Registration can be done online or via phone: 617.333.0690.
