Plimoth Plantation is hosting a weekend long festival to cast a new bell for the Mayflower before she makes her journey from Mystic, CT to Plymouth. Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. you can enjoy this free festival in the lower parking lot.  https://plimoth.org/


East Middleborough 4-H Fair is Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to dusk. King Richard’s Faire opens Saturday and runs through October 20th, 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31st is Carver Day – free admission for Carver residents. Family Fun Days on Duxbury Beach, today from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – it’s all about kites and the science of flight! Build simple kites as you explore the science of flight with South Shore Sanctuaries staff and learn about the remarkable adaptations birds have developed in order to take flight! Great for kids of all ages – no fee and no registration required! Meet in the lot on the ocean side of the Powder Point Bridge. Tell the harbormaster you are attending the Mass Audubon program. The 5th annual Onset Beach Kite Festival takes places today from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This free event is fun for the whole family! There will be build-a-kite stations for just $3 per kite but feel free to bring your own kite. Rain date is Sunday, September 1. It’s Family Ponding time at Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary in Plymouth from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Join the sanctuary staff for an aquatic adventure as you explore the pond and its banks at Tidmarsh in search for some of the amazing critters who call it home. You’ll use nets and hand lenses to see tadpoles, frogs, fish and other critters up close! Be sure to dress for the weather and wear footwear appropriate for hiking on potentially muddy trails.
