Touch a Truck


The 43rd annual Corn Festival at the South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This is a wonderful event to celebrate the fall harvest here in New England. The cost is $7 Members/$10 Non-Member (2 & under free). The 28th annual Soule Homestead Harvest Fair and Joe Davies Music Festival takes place Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The festival includes games and activities for the kids including a kids tent and play area, Joe’s Crazzy Critters and New England Reptile and Raptors, tractors, hay rides, delicious food, sheep dog demonstrations and horse show along with other live animals and more! Saturday, September 14:

The Hanover Firefighters 8th annual Touch a Truck returns to Sylvester Field in Hanover today from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This great family-friendly event helps raise funds for the community and it boasts one of the largest assortments of trucks and vehicles of any other touch a truck around. There will be so many trucks for kids to climb over, food vendors and other activities including their legendary candy drop as well as bounce houses, balloon artists, face painting and more! The 15th annual Endless Summer Waterfront Festival takes place in Hull on Nantasket Beach today from noon until 5:00 p.m.  There will be delicious food and food competitions, bounce houses, life music, inflatable carnival games and more. Hullchamber.com

The Duxbury Rotary Club is holding their annual Rubber Duck race today for all ages. The race takes place at the Bluefish River Bridge and the festivities kick off at 10:00 a.m. with games, the Mega Duck race and then the release of the giant flock of yellow, pink and blue mini-ducks at 11:00 a.m.


Marshfield Recreation Trails Committee invites you to join them on their monthly hike today of Couch Beach, the North Trail. Meet at about 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. departure. Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle and peanut free snack along with sturdy shoes and insect repellent. This walk is ideal for kids ages 12 and older, accompanied by an adult, as well as older adults. It’s free but donations are always accepted. Head to Couch Cemetery at 629 Union Street and meet at the parking lot behind the wood fence on the north side of the cemetery.


The 21st annual East Bridgewater Business & Family Expo Fun Day takes place today from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the East Bridgewater Town Common. There will be music, face painting, balloon art, pony rides, bounce houses, Joe’s Crazzy Critters, good eats and treats and so much more including the 5th annual apple pie contest!


If you’re heading south today is the 2nd annual Cape Cod Canal Day from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Buzzards Bay Park! There will be kids’ activities, entertainment, food and more. Admission is free!


The Pembroke Celebrates Committee has organized a fantastic event to honor and celebrate those who work for and volunteer to make Pembroke an amazing place to be! Sunday, September 15:

The third Sunday every month until October you can enjoy the Cranland Airport fly-in breakfast in Hanson! You’ll be able to lots of interested aircraft up close – just please, don’t touch! You can see the planes fly in and take off too, and enjoy breakfast for a great price – $7 for adults and $3 for kids which includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice. Fly, drive, walk or bike – this event is open to the public and kicks off at 8:00 a.m. and usually runs until about 11:00 a.m. They stop serving breakfast around 10:30 a.m. or when the food runs out!
