Memorial Day Events On The South Shore

Here’s a rundown of some Memorial Day events that will be taking place on the South Shore.

Abington: Ceremony will begin at 9am, on Monday, May 27th, at the Veterans Lot of the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Bridgewater: There will be a ceremony that will be hosted by the VFW Post 2125, at 7am. Parade will begin at 10:30am, on Monday, May 27th, starting on Stetson Street, and will continue down South on Route 18. The parade will conclude at the Town Common, and there will be a celebration.

East Bridgewater: Ceremony will begin at 10am, on Monday, May 27th, at the Town Common. After the ceremony, there will be a barbecue for the community at the Peter Moskos Pavilion, at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club.

West Bridgewater: Ceremony will be held at 10am, on Monday, May 27th, at the War Memorial Park.

Cohasset: Parade begins at 10am, on Monday, May 27th, starting at the South Shore Music Circus, at 130 Sohier Street, and will end at Veterans Memorial Park. A ceremony will begin at 12pm.

Halifax: Parade will begin at 9:30am, on Monday, May 27th, starting at the Halifax Country Club, and will end at Town Hall, at 10am. The ceremony will follow, and will end at 12:30pm.

Hanover: Parade is scheduled to begin at 10am, on Monday, May 27th, at Saint Mary’s Church. A ceremony will be held at Veterans Memorial, at 11:30am.

Hingham: Ceremonies begin at 11am, at the Town Hall, at 210 Central Street.

Marshfield: Ceremonies begin at 7:30am, on Monday, May 27th, for a wreath laying at the town’s cemetery. Parade begins at the Ventress Memorial Library, at 10:30am, and will end at the Veterans Memorial Park, at 11am.

Milton: Flag raising at the Milton Town Hall gazebo at 10:45am, followed by a procession to Milton Cemetery for an 11am ceremony. 

Pembroke: Parade begins at 10am, on Monday, May 27th,  starting at 300 Center Street, and ends at 105 Center Street.

Plymouth: Parade and additional ceremonies will begin at Plymouth Memorial Hall, at 9:30am, on Monday, May 27th.

Raynham: Parade will begin at 10am, on Saturday, May 25th, at the Merrill Elementary School. The parade will continue from Pleasant Street, through South Main Street, down King Philip Street, and end at the Gazebo Park. There will be a ceremony that will begin at 11:15am.

Randolph: A ceremony begins at 8:30am at Randolph Town Hall. The main ceremony will begin at 9am at the Tyler Free Library by the war memorial. That ceremony will be followed by a procession from the Zapustas Ice Rink to the cemetery on North Street. All are invited to the AmVets for hot dogs and hamburgers.

Rockland: Ceremony will begin at 11am, on Monday, May 27th, at the Rockland Veterans Memorial.

Scituate: Ceremony will be held at the Harbormaster’s Office, starting at 8am, on Monday, May 27th. The parade will begin at 10:30am, out front of the Town Hall, located at 600 Chief Justice Cushing Highway.

Weymouth: A wreath laying ceremony will begin at 8am, in Columbian Square. A memorial ceremony will begin at 9:30am, in Jackson Square. The parade will start at Jackson Square, and will continue to Town Hall. A ceremony will continue at 11am, located at the Ralph Talbot Amphitheater.
