What do you know about Chickens? Check out “Backyard Chickens: Our Journey from Chick to Egg” at the South Shore Natural Science Center today from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Thinking about raising chickens? Last June two-day-old chicks arrived at the Science Center and now they’re tried and true egg-layers. Come hear their story, tour the coop, meet the chickens and learn all we’ve learned about the art of backyard fowl raising. Free with admission to the South Shore Natural Science Center. Do you want to remember how the Seasons are shifting around you? Do you wish to be a Lewis and Clark Explorer of your town? Learn how Scientists are still recording nature observations on paper and how they need you to record the nature data in your town. Nationally recognized naturalist, author, artist, Clare Walker Leslie will show you simple ways- in both writing and drawing- how to set up an ongoing Nature Observation Notebook. No drawing skills needed. What to bring: a small notebook (lined or not), 2 pencils, 1 ball point pen and/or felt-tipped pen, colored pencils if you want. Binoculars, field guides optional. The North Community Church Youth Group will hold a Hollywood in the “Hills” talent and variety show today at 3pm at the Church’s Parish House and Sanctuary on Old Main Street in Marshfield Hills. The event, which is open to the public, will include performances by all ages, for all ages from Pop Singles to Piano, from Classical Music, to Irish Step, Story Telling and more. Admission is just $5. The event begins at 3pm in the Parish House with a pre-show reception of appetizers and a silent auction. The show will start at 4pm in the Church Sanctuary with a post show bake sale and Raffle Drawing. Auction items original artwork, gift certificates to local businesses, jewelry, an autographed biography “Francona” and more. All proceeds from the show support the Youth Group Mission Trips, both locally and nation wide. Come enjoy the show, bid on some silent auction items, and possibly go home the winner of Red Sox tickets.

The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra presents “The French Collection” tonight at 8 at Memorial Hall in Plymouth.
