The North Star Pro Rodeo comes to the Marshfield Fair Grounds on Saturday and Sunday! Saturday the gates open at 4 for kids activities and the rodeo starts at 6. Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays program is back for the summer. Today you can visit for free the Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston, The Sports Museum in Boston and the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, among others. Check out the complete list HERE!

It’s Hanover Day today! The carnival, which is actually open Friday from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. but the main fun takes place on Saturday with fun and activities lined up from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – but the fun continues into the evening, the carnival is open until 10:00 p.m.! For the kids check out the bubble man at 11, Big Ryan at 1, Mad Science at 2 and Vanessa and The Jumping Monkeys at 3! The carnival is open and there will be lots of arts, crafts, ballooning, face painting and fun for the sports enthusiasts too with visits from a N.E. Patriot Duron Harmon and the Red Sox showcase which bring a batting cage and pitching station right to Sylvester Field in Hanover! The 5th annual Milton Music Fest and Fireworks takes place at Hutchinson’s Field on Adams Street in Milton today from 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Kids activities include a giant sand box, mini golf, inflatables, corn hole and old-fashioned games. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray!

 

The Marshfield Recreation Department will hold a free tennis clinic today at the Marshfield High School Tennis courts beginning at 10:00 a.m. The clinic is both for kids and adults (parents are welcome to attend). Play Day Clinic will have introductory skill drills for tennis, intro lessons for adults, short court tennis for the kids’, fast serve contest and free prizes. Today’s clinics will be conducted by Professional and National USTA Trainer R. Gary Pina from the Green Harbor Tennis Club in Marshfield. It’s time to read to Luke today at the Hingham Public Library 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Luke is an adorable Goldendoodle and a wonderful, patient listener. Current exhibits include Explore-a-Saurus where you can assume the role of scientist and explore the evidence, the science and the features that make dinosaurs so compelling. You can touch and measure a fossil footprint and learn what clues it gives about a dinosaur’s size. You can manipulate a full-size model and learn how they moved and rearrange bone puzzles to learn about dinosaur anatomy.
