Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in December (8-10, 15-17, 22 & 23), participate in the Plimoth Plantation holiday tradition: Light in the Darkness. It’s a fun-for-all-ages stroll where you can savor a taste of holiday history, where music floats on the wintry air, candles glow and cozy heath fires illuminate the faces of Christmas revelers. Program begins on the half hour between 3:30 – 8:00 p.m. and Light in the Darkness covers mixed terrain and is performed in all weather conditions, indoors and outdoors, so be sure to wear comfy shoes and warm clothes and coats for all the standing/walking you will be doing.  Cost is $10 for non-member adults, $8 for member adults, $8 for non-member kids 5 – 12 and $5 for member kids.  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/light-in-the-darkness-tickets-39479156219

 

Abington Celebrates Christmas at Island Grove this weekend! On Saturday enjoy breakfast with Santa from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. at Abington Senior Center, tickets are $5 each and kids 4 and under are free! The town tree will be lit at 5:00 p.m. at Island Grove, and beginning at 3 there will be cookies and storytelling and you can visit Santa in his workshop. Free admission – no dogs, please. December 9th and 10th, head to Middleborough’s KOA Campground for their 4th annual Festival of Lights from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. For $2 per carload you can experience driving through the campground and seeing more than 200,000 decorated lights! A visit to the Christmas Village will feature cocoa and cookies for only $1, and hand-made authentic Middleborough Festival of Lights ornaments for purchase. You can have a professional picture taken with Santa or the Grinch for $5 while strolling through the village with the backdrop of seasonal music. You can see the cabins and vote for your favorite decorated cabin! For the older set who may like to see amazing holiday décor, the Daniel Webster Estate Christmas Show House is open through Sunday, December 10th, weekdays 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. There is an evening event Friday, December 8th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. You can also meet Santa on Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The house is decked out for the holidays with a “Joy to the World” theme featured in each room.  Tickets are $15, seniors $10.

 

 

Saturday, December 9, 2017:

Hanson Holiday Fest is today, and what better way to start the day than breakfast with Santa! The Hanson Fire Fighters are organizing Santa’s visit to Camp Kiwanee and you can purchase tickets for three different seatings: 7:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Tickets are $7 online now or $10 at the door. Head to the Hanson Town Hall from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for Hanson Holiday Fest where you will enjoy samples from local restaurants, music, Santa again as well the lighting of the tree and fireworks! It’s Crazy Craft time at the John Curtis Free Library in Hanover. Design your own art and craft projects using a wide variety of materials that will be supplied by the library. Get creative and go wild from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

 

Whitman Christmas Festival events begin at noon with Santa’s arrival at Town Hall. There will be free Christmas cookies and treats until about 3:00 p.m. Also from noon until 3:00 p.m. there will be holiday story time and arts and crafts at the Whitman Town Hall lower level meeting room. And then at 4:00 p.m. head to the Town Park Band Stand and take a ride on Santa’s train, jump on the jumpies or run through the obstacle course, giant slides and build your own teddy bear too! Stoughton presents the Parade of Lights and Winter Warm Up today at 5:00 p.m.! The parade route is from Stoughton High School (Pearl Street), through the Center, bear left onto Park Street (Rt. 27), and ends at the corner of Leech and Park Street. Following the Parade, head to the middle school for the Winter Warm Up from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with holiday snacks, live performances, crafts and photos with Santa!

 

Gingerbread House Workshop – what fun! At Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton today from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with four session times to choose from: 10, 11, 1 or 2:00 p.m. This is a fun event for all ages.
