11AmbyBostWelcome to the Monday, Patriots Day and Marathon Day, edition of “The South Shore’s Morning News”:

Coming up at 7:11, we’ll replay our interview with Boston Marathon pioneer, Kathrine Switzer, who in 1967 became the first woman to run the Boston Marathon as a numbered entry. It was not until 1972 that women were allowed to run the Boston Marathon officially.

Then at 8:11, we’ll listen back to our interview with Amby Burfoot, winner of the 1968 Boston Marathon, who will run again today to mark 50 years since his victory.

Later at 9:11, some of the cast and crew from Hingham Civic Music Theater join us in studio to discuss their upcoming performance of Cabaret which opens April 20th in Hingham.

And at 9:22, it’s time to introduce you to our Pet of the Week sponsored by Family Pet and Garden Center in Pembroke.  To see our newest furry friend looking for their forever home visit www.959watd.com/petoftheweek
