Marshfield Police Lieutenant Artie Shaw says crews are responding to a gas leak reported on Webster Street between the Senior Center and Winslow Cemetery Road.
Eversource is on scene, the company told Shaw that the situation is under control, and there is no danger of any type of explosion at this point. The road is currently shut off from Careswell Street to Winslow Cemetery Road.
Nearby residents are being asked to shelter in place. The police and fire departments are currently going house to house to evaluate gas levels in homes.
