A suspect is in custody following a bank robbery in Braintree.
Braintree Police say that at 10:43 a.m. Friday they received a report from an employee at the Eastern Bank on Granite St. that they were robbed at gunpoint.
Officers who responded to the scene were then told that a person matching the suspect’s description was seen running across the street and entering the wood line near 639 Granite St.
A “lock-out” was placed at Braintree High School as a precaution.
Police say a perimeter was established and K9 and air resources were brought in to assist with the search.
A person exiting the wood line was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. and police say they are likely to press charges.
They also add that there is no “on-going threat to the public,” and that the suspect’s name isn’t being released at this time.
