Backing up one of the most dominant title runs in recent history is no small feat. The Scituate Sailors graduated loads of talent from the 2024 roster that put together the program’s first ever perfect season.
Fortunately, a few key contributors remained to help bring along a cast of fresh faces.
Led by Jonny Donovan and Grayson Foley, the Sailors battled their way back to Gillette, and then battled back from a two-touchdown halftime deficit to beat Tewksbury for the Division 4 Super Bowl.

For the second year in a row, Donovan made headlines on the biggest stage. After matching the record for touchdown passes in a half in a state title game last year, Donovan spun a gem Saturday. When he walked off the field, he was sitting at 4th on the list of most passing yards in a title game in Massachusetts history.
Foley did his thing as well, piling up yardage through the air and on the ground.
Beyond the two headliners, the rest of the roster rose to the occasion, no strangers to the big moment now in their third go-round at Gillette in a row.
In the end, the Sailors scored in the final seconds of the game to best the Redmen 42-41 in the signature game of Super Bowl Weekend 2025.
The day after the victory, Scituate’s Jonny Donovan, Grayson Foley, Shea Tinkham, Cam Cerussi, Miller Shea, and Parker Shaw came down to WATD’s studios to discuss their incredible season on the Sports Exchange.
