Hingham police arrested a man they say broke into the Linden Ponds senior living complex, stealing a credit card, and using it to make purchases.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kevaughn Fagan, of eleven Castle Green in Marshfield, is charged with larceny over two-hundred-fifty dollars from a person over age sixty, felony breaking and entering in the daytime, and three counts of felony entering a dwelling by false pretenses.

Lieutenant Steven Dearth says that Fagan claimed to be a ride share driver to gain vehicle access to the complex and wore a junk removal company sweatshirt to appear to be a legitimate worker.

Police say that on December seventh, a resident noticed his credit card missing and that it had been fraudulently used several times to make purchases.

Over the next several days, residents reported a man approached them claiming to be from a junk removal company and asked if they needed any furniture removed.

On another occasion the suspect entered an unlocked apartment while the resident was inside and claimed he was there to remove a bureau.

He told the resident he had entered the wrong apartment and left.

On December 13 the man returned to Linden Ponds and was driving the same vehicle and wearing the same junk removal sweatshirt.

Staff called police and officers located him inside the residential complex where he was arrested.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for his car and property was found.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
