Marshfield has a new select board member.
Rick Smith overwhelmingly was elected to the board in Saturday’s town election with 2,928 votes in the three-way race for an open seat.
Frank Doran was second with 922 and Joe Pecevich received 221 votes.
The other races were unopposed.
A total of 4,146 ballots were cast or nearly 19% of the town’s registered voters.
The vacancy was created when board member Steve Darcy decided not to seek reelection.
The board is still one member short after Trish Simpson resigned last month. No election has been set to fill that seat.
Last week’s Town Meeting voted to expand the board from its current three members to five.
