An outdoor water ban is in effect for Abington and Rockland.
The Abington and Rockland Joint Water Works says that the Massachusetts EPA issued a water supply emergency declaration on Friday because of low levels in water supply reservoirs.
All outdoor watering is prohibited including the watering and irrigation of lawns and gardens, the filling of swimming pools, and washing driveways and patios.
Residents are asked to conserve water indoors where possible.
