A second teen has died as a result of a stolen car pursuit that ended in a crash in Abington.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that a 16-year-old female died Thursday from her injuries.
Her name has not been released.
Authorities say that on Wednesday morning around 7:45, an Abington police officer spotted a Hyundai Santa Fe that was reported stolen out of Brockton and tried to pull it over.
Police say the SUV took off and drove through several streets at a high rate of speed before it left the road and crashed into a large tree at 877 Washington Street.
One of the five occupants was ejected upon impact.
Another occupant, 17-year-old Sebastian Hamilton of Weymouth, was pinned in the vehicle and died at the scene.
The other teens sustained serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
