Hundreds gathered on Cole’s Hill in Plymouth Thursday for the National Day of Mourning in which Native Americans and their supporters who see the day as a way to remember “the genocide of millions of Native people, the theft of Native lands, and the relentless assault on Native culture.”
Among those in attendance was Chief Lady Bug who spoke with WATD’s Ed Perry.
Navy Veteran Laughing Eyes tells WATD’s Ed Perry he attended the event as a show of solidarity.
Marissa also attended the event with her family saying she wanted them to hear both sides of the story.
The observance has been held since 1970.
