Norwell Selectmen held a meeting Tuesday night to discuss the Pond St./Accord Park Proposal.
“This is a proposal that has been worked on by the town as an economic development project in accordance with a grant from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council,” said Town Administrator Peter Morin “there have been a number of public meetings and input sessions that were held in developing this proposal and a number of High St. residents, which is the residential area that abuts the office park pointed out some concerns and those concerns were incorporated as the process went on.”
Morin tells WATD News that the proposal went to the Advisory Board who reached a tie vote before it ended up before Selectmen last night.
“In response the Board of Selectmen re-examined the article once more, looked at the two lots and, in an effort to address any remaining concerns that High St. residents would have, voted to remove those lots from the proposal by a vote of 4-0 with one abstention.”
The article will go back to the Advisory Board and then the Planning Board before being submitted to Town Meeting.
