Scituate Town Administrator Jim Boudreau says based on state guidelines, the town will be able to open marinas for recreational boating on May 15th.
“Only persons from the same households should be together on a boat at one time,” said Boudreau. “No gathering or groups of persons from multiple households will be permitted on boat ramps, docks, piers.”
These regulations include all marina and inland water-related activities. All users will have to follow strict social distancing.
“Recreational craft shall remain a safe distance apart. Tying boats or other craft together is prohibited,” said Boudreau. “All recreational boating is subject to the discretion of local officials, the Harbormaster, and law enforcement.”
The town is continuing to monitor areas to make sure that people are following social distancing.
Parking at Lighthouse Point has been reduced by a third.
