Another Walmart location on the South Shore has been closed.
The company released a statement saying that they are temporarily closing their Abington store saying the “nature of this virus makes it nearly impossible to track the source of anyone’s infection” and that they will work with health officials to decide what future actions will be including “testing for associates and others who work at the store.” This follows a previous announcement that the Quincy location would also be closed.
Mayor Thomas Koch says the closure will remain in place while testing is underway.
Koch also says that certain steps will be taken before operations resume at the store.
Officials say that, as of yesterday, there are 909 confirmed cases in the City of Quincy.
