Brockton has been especially hard hit by the COVID-19 Pandemic, but Mayor Robert Sullivan was able to report some positive news on the economic front.
Sullivan made the remarks during the Metro South Chamber of Commerce’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Update, where Ili Spahiu, a Lender Relations Specialist with the Small Business Administration, said that local business were taking advantage of federal programs particularly Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
House Speaker Robert DeLeo also spoke at the event where he announced the formation of a new Committee on Beacon Hill.
U.S. Senator Ed Markey Spoke shortly after and discussed the need for continued federal funding for local hospitals and health care centers.
