by | May 24, 2020 | News

A Duxbury man has pleaded guilty to a federal Possession of Child Pornography charge.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 46-year-old Louis Ackerman, Jr. pleaded guilty to the charge during a video conference held on Friday.

In November of 2019, federal agents executed a search warrant of his home and located an iMac Computer and two hard drives.

An on-site forensic review found more than 600 videos and images, including images of minors under the age of 12.

Ackerman could face a minimum of five years to a maximum of 20 years in prison. U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV scheduled sentencing for September 21, 2020.

US Attorney Andrew Lelling, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz, Joseph W. Cronin, Inspector in Charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Boston Field Division, Barnstable Police Chief Matthew Sonnabend, and Duxbury Police Chief Stephen McDonald made the announcement.

The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, which was created in 2006 by the Department of Justice to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
