Hull: Superintendent of Schools Fired

by | May 4, 2020 | News

After an independent investigation wraps up, the Hull School Superintendent is fired due to allegations of personal misconduct.

Back in February, the school committee voted to place Michael Devine on paid administrative leave indefinitely while an outside investigation reviewed allegations of inappropriate communication with a former student.

After the investigation concluded, the school committee held a closed executive session on Tuesday where there was a unanimous vote to fire Devine.

Details of the allegations were not released, but the Hull Police Department were notified of the matter in February.

Assistant Superintendent Judith Kuehn had assumed the role of Acting Superintendent when Devine was relieved of his duties, and according to the School Committee, she will continue in that capacity until a replacement is found.
