Sue Moran Wins State Senate Seat in Special Election
A close race was expected for the open Plymouth/Barnstable State Senate seat in Tuesday’s special election.
Democrat Sue Moran, of Falmouth, and Republican Jay McMahon, of Bourne, both vying for the seat.
Moran won the election with a total of 10,888 to McMahon’s 8,897 votes.
The district includes Plymouth, Kingston, Pembroke, Bourne, Sandwich and Falmouth.
This seat completes Vinny deMacedo’s term, with another election this November.
