Marshfield will be seeking $1 million in reimbursement for COVID-related expenses.
The Plymouth County Commissioners are in charge of disbursing funds from the federal CARES Act.
Town Administrator Michael Maresco says they’ve had conversations with County Treasurer Tom O’Brien about the submission process.
“Prior to the CARES Act passing, they put an application together to get funds to distribute to the 27 communities to help them out,” said Maresco. “They are the only county in the Commonwealth, they were able to secure $90 million.”
Marshfield Treasurer/Collector Patrick Dello Russo says they plan on submitting 85 invoices for $1.12 million dollars.
They’re also seeking reimbursement for $62,000 dollars in masks and $50,000 dollars in cleaning supplies.
The largest purchase was for remote technology for the schools. The recommendations were made by the town and schools.
“We executed the purchase on my end for $797,000 worth of technology for Marshfield students,” said Dello Russo. “That was obviously the most significant purchase.”
Overtime and salary expenses are also being tracked for reimbursement.
The County Commissioners are set to discuss the CARES Act funding during their meeting on Thursday.
