Pembroke: Non-Essential Water Ban in Effect Through Weekend
— WATD 95.9 News & Talk Radio, South Shore Massachusetts
A non-essential water ban remains in effect through the weekend in Pembroke.
In a notice posted to the town website, the ban was issued due to a water level and pressure emergency.
The MassDEP is working with the town to expedite the finalization and inspection of Water Treatment Plant upgrades in an effort to get them back in service quicker than anticipated. A June 19th date is planned.
With no rain forecasted in the next 10 days, a strain will be placed on reserve levels.
Residents are asked to continue to conserve water by not washing vehicles, watering lawns, or filling swimming pools. Potable water brought on sight should be used to fill pools.
