Say hello to Harmony! Harmony is currently at the Marshfield Animal Shelter according to our friends over at the Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter. Harmony is an approximately 6 years old female tortie. She is on the shy side but is slowly starting to trust more people at the shelter. She is up-to-date on vaccines but has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This means she may be more prone to infection and should be an indoor-only cat. FIV cats can live long, healthy lives and also cohabitate with other FIV negative cats without transmitting the infection. Infection can be transmitted through deep bite wounds to other cats but not to humans or dogs. The virus is not transmittable through common use of food, water bowls or through grooming as the virus quickly dies when outside the host.
