Rockland is developing a 10-year master plan with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council. Public workshops have been held on the plan, the most recent one over a Zoom meeting.
Carlos Montanez, a Principal Planner with the MAPC, said the plan informs future decisions for Boards, Committees, and even at Town Meeting.
“Your input is necessary and important in strengthening Master Plan ideas,” said Montanez. “It can inform the plan recommendations, provide a general idea of how to influence the future of the community, as well as shape specific parts of town.”
The first of four workshops was held in October of last year.
Discussion in the most recent meeting included options to revitalize the downtown area, housing needs, and open space.
For those who were unable to take part in the Zoom meeting, an open house is taking place through June where people can submit feedback. The link is mapc.ma/rmp_3rd
