Several South Shore towns will be recognizing Memorial Day by holding celebrations, just in a different way than past years.
Marshfield will air their ceremony on Marshfield cable access as well as on Youtube and Facebook.
The town of Norwell will also air their ceremony which will feature Veterans Agent David Osbourne, a reading of veterans who have passed away as well as the playing of taps which will air on Norwell Community Access Television
Plymouth has rescheduled events from Monday to a date to be determined in June where officials will decorate veterans flags and hold a parade.
There won’t be a parade in Pembroke either but residents are invited to volunteer to help town officials decorate veterans gravesites with flags.
Hanover will live-stream their ceremony on Facebook, which will feature students paying tribute to those who paid the ultimate price during their service.
In Scituate, flags will be placed on all veterans graves, as well as on the town common and memorial sites.
In Weymouth, a ceremony that was recorded will be aired on local access television followed by a parade where veterans will stand along the route- beginning at the Korean War Memorial to the town hall. Decorated cars and motorcycles will drive past to honor those who served.
Rockland officials are asking residents to decorate their doors and yards and send in pictures to rocklandveterans@gmail.com, which will be put into a compilation video and aired on cable access television.
In Quincy, the annual parade is cancelled, but a ceremony will take place that will be aired on Quincy Cable Access Television.
A recorded celebration will air on Braintree Community Access Television at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and will feature a guest speaker, words from the mayor, and musical performances.
In Hingham their celebration will feature a guest speaker, a performance by the high school band, wreath laying, and rifle firing that will also air on local community television.
And in Randolph, all events will take place at town hall including a ceremony with guest speaker, Vietnam veteran James Laskey, as well as remarks by Senator Walter Timility which will be aired on Randolph Community Television.
