A second alarm fire destroyed a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant in Weymouth’s Jackson Square.
Newcomb’s Breakfast and lunch caught fire sometime after the restaurant closed at noon and quickly turned into a second alarm situation.
Weymouth’s fire chief Keith Stark spoke to our reporter David Cedrone and said the building is a total loss and the fire is still under investigation.
Quincy, Braintree and Hingham were called in to get the fire under control and by 5:30 the fire was finally out.
Rick Newcomb has been in this spot in Jackson square area of Weymouth for over 23 years, he says the breakfast and lunch business runs in the family and he will find a way to reopen.
Newcomb’s breakfast and lunch is located on Broad Street in Weymouth’s Jacksons Square.
