A Weymouth man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his father in the home they shared on Lochmere Avenue.
Police Chief William Fuller and Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey say that 37-year-old William Walling, Jr. is expected to be arraigned on Monday by a Quincy District Court judge.
Morrissey says on Saturday around 7 p.m., police were called to the home of 61-year-old William Walling, Sr. Family members went to the home to check the well-being of the residents.
“The scene they observed led them to exit the home and contact police by 911 call,” said Morrissey.
The father was pronounced dead by paramedics from South Shore Hospital. The State Police Crime Scene Services processed the scene, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will investigate the cause and manner of death.
Based on observations at the scene and information developed by police, Walling, Jr. was arrested.
