Duxbury voters approved a ballot question to increase the number of Selectmen from three to five.

At Annual Town Election unofficial results show voters approved the measure 545 to 177.

Per State Rep. Josh Cutler, this measure goes into immediate effect after it was voted on at the last town meeting and was signed into law by Governor Baker.

Next election, one Selectman will be voted in for a three-year term. The other Selectman will have a two-year term.

There were two open seats for Library Trustees. Linda Joan Abelli was re-elected with 593 votes. There were 51 write-in votes for the other open seat. Votes still need to be certified in that race.
