Marshfield Police arrested a Dorchester man on gun and drug charges after an incident Friday night.
Police Lieutenant Arthur Shaw says around 6:12 p.m., a store owner in the Fieldston Beach area called 911.
The store owner reported that a man attempted to shoplift, and when confronted, the man allegedly pointed a firearm at the owner. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20’s, with a maroon backpack.

Joseph was held at the Marshfield Police pending bail of $10,040.
He’s charged with Assault by a Dangerous Weapon (Handgun), Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D drug, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
