The Town of Marshfield received a roughly $1.125 Million check in CARES Act Funds that are being distributed through Plymouth County.
The check was presented during a ceremony at Marshfield Town Hall on Thursday where Tom O’Brien, Treasurer for Plymouth County, explained why Marshfield was the first community selected to receive those funds.
Selectmen Chair Michael Bradley says the funds were badly needed.
Town Administrator Michael Maresco tells WATD News how they will be spent.
While most local authorities chose to turn the funds over to the state for disbursement, Plymouth County chose to handle that responsibility themselves.
State Representative Patrick Kearney says that he’s just happy to see local communities getting the help they need.
Scituate also received funds later in the afternoon.
