In Marshfield, a new Selectman was elected and two contested races were decided in the Annual Town Election.
Unofficial results show Don Gibson winning re-election as Town Moderator, with 1,012 votes. Joe Pecevich had 439 votes.
David Carriere was re-elected to the Board of Public Works with 939 votes. Eric Murphy had 497 votes.
Carriere said he’s looking forward to continuing to work on projects in town such as water infrastructure, sea walls, and new facilities.
“It’s a privilege and I appreciate it,” said Carriere. “I will do my very best to make sure that promises made at Town Meeting to save the money on the new garage assembly come through.”
Steve Darcy ran un-opposed and was elected to the Board of Selectmen. While not the term he pictured when he first decided to run, he’s looking forward to the challenges ahead.
“It means a lot when people tell you that you’re the reason they came out to vote today,” said Darcy. “It means a lot to have the trust of the voters. I’ll work as hard as I can to honor the faith the voters put in me.”
Brigid Boyd was re-elected to the School Committee, Christopher Bitteker was re-elected to the Board of Assessors, Tyler Nims was re-elected to the Board of Health, and Kevin Cantwell was re-elected to the Housing Authority.
Dirk Roderick was elected to the Housing Authority, Michael Biviano, Jr. was elected to the Planning Board. For Veterans Memorial Trustees, Edwin Sullivan III was re-elected. Edward Timlin was elected.
