Fifteen hundred people gathered in Plymouth’s Brewster Gardens yesterday to join the nationwide protest of police killing of black men. Here’s some of what they said.
Most people left from Brewster Gardens. A few hundred marched and chanted along the waterfront, through downtown, and onto the town hall common. They dispersed by 9:30. Fearful of the violence that has accompanied protests elsewhere, many business owners guarded their buildings and police showed a strong presence. The protest remained peaceful for its three hour length.
