A not guilty plea has been entered by a Marshfield man charged in a deadly Braintree shooting.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says that 61-year-old Robert Bonang entered the plea during his arraignment Thursday morning at Quincy District Court.
Bonang was ordered held without bail on charges of murder, two counts of carrying a firearm without a license (rifle and pistol), discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
A witness says that a “fake UPS” delivery person holding a box, later identified as Bonang, walked to 64 Howie Street and rang the bell.
The victim, Laurie Melchionda, then came to the door where she was shot and killed.
Bonang was held “without prejudice,” which means the issue of bail could be revisited later, he is scheduled to return to court July 17 for further proceedings.
