Over a thousand people gathered in front of Quincy City Hall last night for a Black Lives Matter candlelight vigil.
Black Lives Matter member Sue Doherty organized the Quincy vigil and told the crowd Quincy does not represent their diverse community enough and police violence needs to stop.
Quincy City Councilor Brian Palmucci asked the crowd to work together to end racial inequality without violence.
The crowd marched down Hancock Street with Quincy Police on bicycles in front of them as they chanted ‘Black Lives Matter’ and ‘I can’t breathe’ holding signs reading ‘Enough is Enough, ‘No more racial profiling’ and ‘George Floyd’.
The night ended in Quincy without any arrests, violence or looting.
