Randolph Police are investigating after a man was shot outside a gas station.

Chief William Pace says that at approximately 2:20 a.m. Tuesday officers responded to the Shell gas station at 1370 North Main St. over a report of a man lying on the floor of the Seasons convenience store after being shot.

Upon arrival officers located the victim, a 28-year-old Raynham man, lying on the floor.

He was shot once in the midsection and taken by ambulance to a Boston hospital where he was last listed in critical but stable condition.

Witnesses said that the victim was shot in the parking lot and then walked into the store where a clerk called 911.

The suspect has been described as a black male who was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

An investigation determined that he fled the scene in a silver Honda Pilot SUV with a black female driving.

The incident remains under active investigation and anyone with information is being asked to call the Randolph Police Department at 781-963-1212.

Pace says that there is no evidence at this time to suggest that this incident is related to a shooting that occurred late Saturday night where a woman was shot.
