Today is the last official day on the job for long time Duxbury Police Sgt., Dennis Symmonds.
Symmonds is honoring those 46 years of service with a goal originally set at raising $46,000 for “Cops For Kids With Cancer”, now at over $53,000 raised.
Symmonds says they’ll be doing the Boston Marathon “virtually” this year, since it was cancelled.
Every dollar raised for “Cops For Kids With Cancer” goes to the children with cancer and their familes.
Symmonds says this year has been especially difficult to raise money for this cause as so many fundraising events have been cancelled including comedy nights, motorcycle runs, and bowling.
