Three people were hospitalized following an early morning fire in Kingston.
Fire officials tell WATD News the fire was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Monday at 44 Evergreen St.
Mutual aid was called in but when crews arrived on scene they discovered that an off-duty firefighter had already responded to the scene, evacuating the occupants and helping to put down the fire.
The three victims were transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth for minor smoke inhalation.
The home sustained between $10,000 and $15,000 in damage.
Officials say the incident remains under investigation but isn’t considered suspicious.
