Officials have released the name of a Randolph teenager found shot to death in Stoughton.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says that at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday Stoughton Police received a series of 911 calls reporting the sound of gunfire from the area of Jones Terrace.
When officers arrived on scene residents directed them to a late model silver Honda sedan parked a short distance from 31 Jones Terrace.
Upon locating the vehicle officers found a young man, later identified as 17-year-old Christian Vines, sitting behind the wheel.
Officers observed that Vines had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and he was removed from the vehicle, and officers immediately began administering first-aid.
Vines was then transported the victim to the Good Samaritan Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
Witnesses told Police they saw two men running from the scene towards Walnut St., but a search of the area, which included a State Police K-9 Unit tracking dog and State Police Air Wing helicopter, was unable to locate them.
The incident remains under investigation by the Stoughton Police Department and State Police homicide detectives attached to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office.
